Carlisle, PA – MARTIN’S Food Markets today announced the appointment of Amy Michael, MS, RD, LDN, CDE, to in-store nutritionist at the Eldersburg MARTIN’S located at 1320 Londontown Boulevard. She will be available at the store to assist customers with questions on healthy eating while they shop, provide one-on-one consultations, teach health-related classes, and conduct Kid Healthy Idea store tours. In addition, Michael will participate in future health-related events throughout the surrounding community.

“With more of our customers looking for resources to help them make better choices in their diet, having an in-store nutritionist like Amy in the grocery store where these food choices are most often made is part of MARTIN’S overall health and wellness commitment,” said John MacDonald, director of marketing and external communications, MARTIN’S.

With 14 years of nutrition experience, Michael joins MARTIN’S from Carroll Hospital Center where as a registered dietitian and diabetes educator she provided individual and group nutrition and diabetes education to those with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes. In this role, she worked with the hospital’s monthly adult diabetes support group and conducted cooking demonstrations and nutrition education for various community groups. Michael also served as a registered dietitian and diabetes educator with Carroll Health Group/Carroll Endocrinology Associates. Prior to that Michael served as both an inpatient and outpatient clinical dietitian with Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore. A resident of Westminster, she holds both her master’s and bachelor’s degree in family and consumer science with an emphasis in human nutrition and foods from West Virginia University.
