SALVATION ARMY’S DONUTS OF HOPE CAMPAIGN RECEIVES $6,600 DONATION FROM MARTIN’S FOOD MARKETS

Carlisle, PA – To help the Salvation Army Central Virginia Area Command assist individuals and families in need throughout the local community, MARTIN’S Food Markets participated in the organization’s recent Donuts of Hope: A Dough-Raising Event. During the in-store campaign, held June 2-8, MARTIN’S donated 25 cents of every donut sold, resulting in a total contribution of $6,610.

“For the second year in a row, MARTIN’S has been proud to partner with the Salvation Army on this worthwhile event where all monies raised remains right here in the local community,” said Jim Scanlon, regional vice president. “MARTIN’S is committed to being a good neighbor in helping to build healthy communities through this and other programs in the greater Richmond community.”

“We are blessed by the partnership with Martin’s and the friends of The Salvation Army who helped make the Donuts of Hope Campaign successful with their purchases,” said Lou Mazzini, director of development, The Salvation Army of Central VA. “Thank you for honoring the significance of the donut in bringing hope to soldiers during both World Wars. The Red Shield now represents that same beacon for the least, the lonely and the lost. Your generosity will ensure we can provide solutions to homelessness and hunger, development programs for youth at risk, continuing education in areas challenged by illiteracy and rehabilitation for those struggling with addiction.”
