Carlisle, PA – MARTIN’S Food Markets today announced the appointment of Elisabeth D’Alto, RD, LDN to in-store nutritionist at the Eldersburg MARTIN’S located at 1320 Londontown Boulevard. She will be available at the store to assist customers with questions on healthy eating while they shop, provide one-on-one nutrition consultations, teach health-related classes, and conduct Kid Healthy Ideas store tours. In addition, D’Alto will also participate in future health-related events throughout the surrounding community.

“MARTIN’S is committed to providing customers with the information they need to achieve healthier lifestyles and having an in-store nutritionist like Elisabeth is a valuable resource in helping customers make better choices as they navigate the grocery aisles,” said John MacDonald, director of marketing and external communications.

D’Alto brings more than seven years of dietetic experience to her new role with MARTIN’S, having most recently served as a clinical dietitian with Genesis Healthcare at the Cromwell Center in Baltimore, Maryland. D’Alto is also the owner of D’Alto Nutrition, LLC, a nutrition communications and consulting company. She also holds multiple leadership roles within her profession including newsletter editor for the Dietitians in Business and Communications, which is a dietetic practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as well as the 2013-2015 communications chair for the Maryland Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

In addition, she has experience working with various senior living and long term care facilities as a registered dietitian. D’Alto holds a bachelor’s degree in dietetics from Montclair State University and also participated in the dietetic internship program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey’s School of Health Related Professions. Currently a resident of Forest Hill, Maryland, she was recognized by the New Jersey Dietetic Association with the 2012 Young Dietitian of the Year Award.
