GIANT FOOD STORES ANNOUNCES OPENING DATE AND MANAGER FOR NEW NEWTOWN SQUARE LOCATION

Carlisle, PA – GIANT Food Stores today announced that the doors of its newest Delaware County store, located at 4855 West Chester Pike in Newtown Square (Edgmont) will open on Wednesday, November 6 at 8:00 a.m. GIANT acquired the site earlier this year. It previously housed a Genuardi’s, which closed in 2010.

Scott Grygo has been appointed store manager of the 43,000 square foot Newtown Square GIANT, which will operate from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Grygo is a 16-year veteran with GIANT Food Stores, having most recently served as store manager of the Westtown GIANT. The new store will employ approximately 120 full and part time associates when it opens.

“Our team is excited to bring a state-of-the-art GIANT to the Newtown Square and Edgmont communities,” said Grygo. “We can’t wait to show off wonderful new amenities, and deliver our signature quality, selection and savings to our customers.”

When customers walk through the doors of the new store, they will immediately see GIANT’s perishables hall that includes its quality produce, deli, meat, seafood and bakery departments all complemented by a vibrant décor package.

Emphasizing GIANT’s ongoing commitment to health and wellness, customers will find an assortment of natural and organic products in a dedicated section called Nature’s Promise Marketplace, which includes more than 2,500 frozen, dairy, grocery and special diet selections.
